Pros:
Leaders offers the range of equipment and transaction processing, gift card programs, and more for businesses of all sizes. Contracts are offered for a year period. Published rates are competitive and they have one of the lowest “qualified” rates, although merchants will pay that and other higher tiered rates, depending on the type of transaction. As a committed partnering service, they offer help with advertising, inventory, and have a business cash advance program to qualified merchants but details must be carefully reviewed. Leaders has one of the largest fraud and chargeback departments in the industry and customer service is available 24/7. Has a high approval/acceptance percentage, even for companies with a low or bad credit history.
Cons:
The company has early contract termination fees that can range from $250-$350—if its waiver is not stipulated or added to a contract commitment. The complaint sites report hidden fees, verbal statements by sales reps not supported in action, buried contract “fine print,” unauthorized deductions, rates not adhered to and higher fees that can be ever changing, accounts charged even after cancellation, duplicate charges, dormancy fees, fees charged to one’s bank account but not recorded on the Leaders’ statement, rude customer service, difficulty and time and energy wasted in trying to get correction refunds and problems resolved, and much more. The Better Business Bureau has logged 148 complaints over the past 36 months, primarily related to “Agreeing to perform according to their contract.” Nonetheless, Leaders has an A+ rating with the BBB.
